It's the time of year we're reminded to be thankful for our freedom. I tend to think everyday should be a day to remember. Why? Because the folks who fought and are fighting for our freedom are some darned awesome people.

I like the food and family part. Although my kids are in TN and WA we spend the afternoon with my brother who puts a clamboil on and it's heavenly. i always bring dessert, this year it was brownies, soft and chewy.

What's my favorite part of the Fourth of July?
Well my favorite part starts on thr 5th because my Hubby works the 4th, he's a Police Officer (32 years now & going strong) & it happens to be one of their busiest days. But since he has been an Officer for so many years, he has ALOT of Vacation time, which he always takes starting on July 5th. We go the the Veteran's Hosptial each year & donate clothes, books & visit...since my Husband did 2 Tours in Vietnam, Special Forces Marine.

We spent the 4th together as a family, I have 8 kids so lets say it was LOUD! O ;pve s[emdomg the entire day just hanging out with the entire family. We always have a huge BBQ! Love the salads, BLT is my favorite!
