WIP Thursdays

What's happening in the Megan-o-sphere?

Glad you asked. I suffered a bout of rejection. I know, it sucked. But I learned from it. Kind of. Okay, it's hard to learn from a flat out no, but you have to. What did I take away from it? You're not gonna make everyone happy. I also figured out that if you aren't the cream of the crop...make it the cream of the crop. Seriously. Half-assed won't cut it, even if you don't see it as such. So I learned.

I'm less than 2k from being done with the Second Glow book and I'm stoked. I have a plan to have it done by the end of the week. Personal deadline. Crazy? Maybe a little.

Wendi told me about this cool idea she had for a male model. Now before you get your knickers in a twist, I have no idea what she's going to do with him, but she's got him.

I'll keep you posted. But back to the grindstone. I've got stuff to get done!

She’s everything he needs… if he can withstand the burn.

Atria Moline isn’t your average photographer. She controls fire. Sounds fun, being able to scorch whenever you like? Think again. She’s lonely and desperate for the touch of the man who can dance in her flame -- if she doesn’t immolate him first.

Zac “Iceman” Frost controls the stage with his band Glow. He’s not about to back down from Atria’s challenge. He’s got secrets of his own and his sights set on her.

She plopped down onto a nearby folding chair and closed her eyes. Zacchaeus “Iceman” Frost. Goofy name for a hot man. Hot? Okay, so the guy was handsome in a brooding, six-foot-five manner. She licked her lips as a clear image of Zac came together in her mind. Muscles just where a woman wanted to lick. Hardly a stitch of hair on him and a just one tattoo on his back -- a spider web or medieval design… she wasn’t sure and didn’t care. And those eyes, the pristine blue of the North Atlantic. Heat zippedthrough her veins. Was he packing? The bulge in the front of his leathers hinted at more than enough to please. Need tingled in her pussy, and Atria crossed her legs to stave off the sensations.

“I want you, Attie.” His sensual lips curled into a smile. “Now.”

Her breath came in labored puffs as she opened to him. Just to feel his callused hands on her body, tweaking her nipples, drawing out her fire and scorching them through and through.

“What are you doing?”

Fuck, fuck, fuck. Zac’s voice, and not from her fantasy, came through loud and clear. The music stopped, leaving her in the thick throb of the crowd noise just on the other side of the wall. Open her eyes and face him? Maybe she should just stay in the safety of her daydream. Atria slowly forced her eyes open to deal with the man who embodied sin and sex. Instead of the throng of groupies and the rest of the band, Zac knelt before her. His breath fanned over her cheeks, and his spicy cologne swirled around her.

“Is this a dream?” Wow. Again, she sounded foolish. “I mean…”

His hand spread across her thigh, kicking her heat up a notch. “Does it include hot sex?”

“Men.” She scooted from his grasp, forcing herself to avoid his touch. “Not everything has to do with sex.” Not when her gift interfered.

Mirth and something else twinkled in his eyes, and the corner of his mouth lifted in a grin. “All right for you."

“I need to see Luc.”

“He’s preening for the crowd. He’ll be here.” He nabbed a bottle of water from the mini fridge. “Are you going to take pictures or just irritate him?”

She palmed her camera bag. Instead of the hard plastic, her hand squished into the leather. No… no. She glanced down. Dammit. “I was.”

“Left it at home again?” He chuckled, the sound radiating down her spine. “I’m beginning to think you don’t want to photograph us. Or do I really put you off?”
“Your smiling face does do something for me.” Oh crap. Talk about a come-on. “I’m not sure what, but it does something.”

“Right,” he said, drawing the word out. Before Zac could say anything else, Luc breezed into the dank room.

“The crowd was fierce tonight.” He snapped his towel on Zac’s arm, without bothering to look in her direction. “I’d ask why you came down here early, but I’m pretty sure I know. Hi, Attie.”

Melt into the floor, that was what she needed to do… and maybe slide between the cracks in the floor. Was it possible to hide under a solid slab of concrete? “You wanted pictures.”

WIP Thursday and a Spotlight!!

Ok, so there's lots to talk about today. I'll try to get to it all.

First, I'm at Whipped Cream still for my spotlight! Check it out and comment. I'd love it if you did.

Fire Woman releases tomorrow!! how cool is that? I'm super stoked.

WIPS!

Ok, so... Wrapped Around my Christmas story for Luc and Taygan has been accepted at Changeling! Squee! I get to be a part of the White Hot Christmas Collection which is awesome. I love their collections and to be a part of one is truly cool. I have an in-progress blurb for you:
Christmas is the time to come together--with candy, shiny paper, and lots of white hot sex.

Luc loves his role fronting the band Glow. He loves the adoration of the fans, the energy in the crowd, but it's Christmas. No one likes a Christmas alone.

Taygan's free spirit resists taming--except when it comes to Luc. Luc's one hundred percent human. Taygan is all air elemental. He needs his space and freedom, but he'll do whatever it takes to make Luc happy, including giving up his space and freedom to make Luc's holiday one he'll never forget--complete with the real Santa, peppermint candy, and lots of hot sex.

~ ~

I'm working on another story featuring Luc and Tay to follow Fire Woman. I mean, each member of Glow deserves a story, right? Stay tuned for how that works out.

~ ~

ALSO and this is really cool. I got a cover for Permanent. Now this doesn't come out until January so it's a bit of a wait, but hey, the cover is darned sexy. I'm stoked. It's part of the Sexy Snax line at Total-E-Bound and that's a brand spankin' new thing, too. Here's that blurb:

Sometimes love just ain’t enough...

River Cortland trusted the person he loved. His faith couldn’t protect him from the bitter sting of a cold-hearted Domme. If he’s going to learn to trust again, he’s got to deal with his past. His roommate and best friend, Tory, has seen the physical damage and hasn’t walked away. Can he deal with the emotional scars as well?

Tory McClellan wanted the carefree life...until one night with River changed everything. There’s more to the shy art teacher and Tory wants to know everything-how he tastes, the scent of his skin, the feel of his body as they make love. What terror lies behind River’s brown eyes? Better yet, how can Tory make the sadness go away and be in River’s live, permanently?

~ ~

and LAST BUT NOT LEAST

I wrote a Christmas story for a challenge. Now, the challenge was 12k in 14 days. I added a little bit to the 12k...making it 15k. I love me some Raylan and Chase, so it wasn't hard to add to their book. So, what about it? I sent the story to Liquid Silver and they've contracted it! Yes! Triple Squee!!!! So yeah, a lot's been going on. Here's the blurb I have--again in-progress--for Believe:

Can love surpass distance and time?

Raylan believed himself unworthy of love until he met Chase. Chase
brought out Raylan’s natural need to control and the power to submit.
But time and distance makes having a relationship hard. Can Raylan
prove to Chase they have what it takes for love to last through this
Christmas and the Christmas’ for the rest of their lives/?

Chase found the muse for his song in Raylan. Each time they touch,
kiss...make love, music fills his soul. But working odd gigs to make
ends meet while Raylan photographs rock and roll royalty isn’t
soothing to Chase’s creativity. Can he convince Raylan they’re better
off together than apart?

Only if they both believe.

The Spotlight Continues!!!

Come on over and comment. I'm giving away a GC and plus, it's fun to hang out!!!

http://whippedcream2archives.blogspot.com/

Should be fun!!!

And since I'm feeling spunky... here's an excerpt for Fire Woman
“Make love? Now?” she whispered. Yes, she wanted to know every square inch of his body and feel him moving within her. Niccolo and his stupid commands be damned.
Propped on one elbow, Zac cradled her body tight against his and rubbed his nose along her cheek. “I’ve wanted to kiss you since the moment Luc brought you to the studio.”
“Me?” Her voice squeaked. Great. Way to sound confident. With him so close, she saw not only the blue in his eyes, but the rings of azure blending with white streaks along his pupil. A girl could get lost in such a brilliant palette of color.
“That’s why I brought you to my most sacred place. The dog likes you, I’m hooked on you. Works for me, now kiss me.” Zac blotted out any response she could come up with and lowered his lips to hers. She opened to him, licking along his bottom lip and tangling her tongue with his.
“Lay back,” he murmured.
Atria did as he asked, but she didn’t take her gaze off him. The whole scene, him there with her, him interested in her -- it had to be a dream. “Zac?”
“Hush.” Kisses fluttered along her inner thigh. “Enjoy.”
Her mind raced as he nudged the Henley up to her breasts. Enjoy sex? Duh. Not worry she’d incinerate him? Umm… She stilled his hands. “Wait.”
He smiled up at her, molding his hand to her breast. “Atria, love, it’ll be good. Promise.” As if to punctuate his words, Zac drew circles on the lacy surface of her bra.
She shuddered as the kiss of cool air caressed her fevered skin. Her nipples beaded. Dear Goddess, she yearned for his touch, and since he hadn’t turned to a pile of charred man…
“Kiss me,” she bit out and shoved the shirt up over her chest. Better to say what she wanted than give in to the fear. Atria closed her eyes. The chill from his breath meshed with the heat in the room as he sucked on her tender flesh. Instead of apprehension, sheer delight swirled low in her belly. Each swipe of his tongue felt like ice crystals on her skin… too intoxicating and just right.
“Everywhere, love, everywhere.”

“Whatever, brat. Are you here to see Lucien?” His smile widened. “Or have you finally found the nerve to talk to Zac?”

“Shut up.” The response sounded one hell of a lot better than, I want to jump his bones and ride to Arizona. Damn it. “Luc wanted pictures taken after the gig. I’m here to photograph, not hurl myself at anyone.” Shit. That sounded goofy, especially since she didn’t have her camera in plain sight. The thought crossed her mind -- had she remembered it at all?

“Uh-huh.” He twisted the knob and allowed her into the inner sanctum -- the backstage area. “Next time, keep the camera around your neck for credibility.”

Although Atria considered giving her brother the middle finger, she refrained and shivered. She’d been backstage at the Steelyards plenty of times. Luc and his band, Glow, played lots of places, plenty of them creepier than the former factory warehouse. Why the hell did the massive room scare her? One name came to mind. Zac.

Damn.

She plopped down onto a nearby folding chair and closed her eyes. Zacchaeus “Iceman” Frost. Goofy name for a hot man. Hot? Okay, so the guy was handsome in a brooding, six-foot-five manner. Fridays at the Menagerie

Ok, so I'm stressed and this song really has nothing to do with me being stressed, but it's one of my favorite songs (and yes, I liked it in Shrek). So I'm sharing. I'm over at the Menagerie, so come over there when you're done watchin.

WIP Thursdays

I'm still stuck on Luc, but I do have a purty new cover to share. I am stoked. Renee did a fabulous job and I couldn't be happier.

Yuppers, cover faery loves me. So I'm going to head back into Luc's story. I'm about halfway through it and I really should finish it. Enjoy!!!

Want to read a fun short to get you in the mood? Read Fire Woman: Sweet Sizzles!. I had a blast writing it.

WIP Thursdays!

Whew. I know I keep starting the posts this way, but man. I've not had a break in a while and I'm not complaining.

I did edits for Fire Woman and got those back to the editor. Made me feel good to get them in. She said, not long and this will be out. I'm shaking! My first release! I hope I get the cover art soon as I can't wait to see what the folks at Changeling do with my input. :-)

I got the Christmas story I had proposed to Changeling in. Now, this was the kinda fun part. Fire Woman concerns Atria and Zac. Luc, Atria's brother, has had a crummy time, so he got the Christmas story. Plus, Taygan couldn't wait to come out and play. I had a great time writing the story and hope when it comes out in December, you love it, too.

I'm still waiting on two submissions and working on the next in the Glow band series, so keep an eye out. I'd like to get moving on the story that follows Permanent here before the end of the year.

And now back to writing. Got those deadlines to meet. Check out my post over at The Menagerie tomorrow!!!

WIP Thursday

So. It's been a week. I have to say I love working with Changeling Press. The folks there are so friendly. It's like writing for a family, a huge family, but a family. I was asked to write an Encounter story. Got that done this past week. Was really fun trying to write a story that's hot and short. I also outlined the story that goes along with Fire Woman. Luc keeps giving me the stink eye because I haven't written his story. It's on the list. First, I'm working on a Christmas themed story. It's a little late in the year for it, as most pubs have already had the calls for holiday work. I buck the system. I know, you're really shocked. So that's going. Not going to be a long story, but I want to get it done. I need to get back to Luc and Tay's story as well as Neddy and Kane. Only a hundred ideas. Too bad there's only 24 hours in the day. That's all for now. I'll get back to the WIP's in a bit. Gotta finish the posts and then I can. Yes, Luc, that means I'll be back to work on you in a moment. Ta!
