Working... Really

I'm working on the follow-up to my short on Wendi's blog. Thinking I'll put it here and on hers.

I also have an idea spinning in the back of my mind about a goth vampire rocker... we'll see what happens with that.

I'm planning on making my first offical jump into publishing here shortly as well.

Am I scared? Hell yeah. I hate to fail.

But I'm also willing to put my neck out... or whatever it takes to get the job done.

So I'll leave you with those little morsels. I need to research.

So I have this Book... Buy It!

Okay, well really I don't yet. I'm still writing it.

But that seems to be the battle cry of every author out there. Yes, yes, I know you have a book. It might even be pretty good. But don't jump in my face saying it's the next best thing to sliced bread. Send me the blurb. If I find myself drawn in... I'll give it another look. If it's got a hot cover model, well, I'll look at him and then read the back blurb again (maybe).

Okay, I'm being a bit catty (What'd you expect?). But I don't want a story crammed down my throat because you want me to buy it.

Yes, your story is probably fine. But if it's not something I read... (sorry, not a historical junkie... and if you haven't guessed, I like a whole bottle of tabasco spice in my stories)... I may not pick it up. If you harange me about it... Sorry. You lose. I won't read it.

Childish? A tad. ::shugs::

Never let it be said I wasn't blunt or honest.

But if you go about it by letting the book speak for itself... and the cover do it's thing... You'll be surprised. I might read it AND like it. And if I like it, I"ll tell my girls.

But that's just my opinion.

I'm off to do other things.

What I'm Doing...

So I sat down in front of my computer and realized I needed to do another post. I have the next installment of my flash fiction percolating, but it needs time to simmer a bit. Don't want to rush these things.

What am I really doing? If you ask Ewan and Jeremy... well, you'd get a whole new answer from what I'm about to give you.

I have a couple ideas in my head that I'd like to get onto the computer screen... and a couple ideas I'll need to research a bit before they can be written about. But that's for another day.

For now, I think I'll let you wait and wonder. Can't give too much info too fast.
